Hubie spent twenty years helping develop the bloodstock interests of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, doing this in his role as manager of Sheikh Hamdan’s, Derrinstown Stud and associated farms in Ireland. During his time with Sheikh Hamdan he was directly associated with the purchasing or raising of many champions includingfifteen Classic winners in Europe and also horses such as Zabeel, Almaraad, At Talaq, Jeune and many others in Australia. In 2003 Hubie left Derrinstown Stud to set up his own bloodstock consultancy business, de Burgh Equine in the heart of the thoroughbred industry in Ireland. We continue to build our business and the scope of our services. In 2021 we welcomed Martin Buick to the team as Bloodstock Consultant. A son of multiple Champion Jockey Walter and brother to leading rider William, Martin grew up in a racing family and has gained valuable knowledge of the bloodstock industry by working for Arrowfield Stud, Archie Alexander Racing in Australia and the Irish National Stud course.
